Akela Cooper is a talented and accomplished writer who has made a name for herself in the entertainment industry. With a background in theatre and a passion for storytelling, Cooper has built a successful career as a television writer and producer.
One of Cooper’s most notable achievements is her work on the hit TV show “The 100.” She joined the writing team in the show’s second season and quickly made an impact with her unique voice and fresh perspectives. Cooper has written numerous episodes of “The 100,” and has also served as a co-executive producer on the show.
From there, Cooper was able tp step into the worlds of comic books and horror. She has written for popular television shows such as “American Horror Story,” “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D,” and “Lucifer.” and “Luke Cage.” She has a talent for creating compelling and complex characters, and has a knack for weaving together intricate plots that keep viewers on the edge of their seats. In 2022 she wrote for and executive produced “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” which has become the best reviewed show in the sci-fi franchise’s long and storied history.
In addition to her work in television, Cooper has also made a name for herself as a screenwriter. She has written the screenplays for several horror films, including “Hell Fest” and “Malignant”. Both of these films were highly successful and received praise from critics and audiences alike. 2023 looks to be another breakout year for the writer. “M3GAN” her story about a killer doll debuted #1 at the box office raking in $27.5 million and knocking off the Avatar sequel from the top spot. Cooper has also written “Nun 2” putting her unique stamp on the ever expanding and widely popular “Conjuring” horror cinematic universe.
Akela Cooper has come a long way from her small hometown of Hayti, MO (population under 2,500). The Truman State Univ. and USC grad is a talented and versatile writer who has made a significant contribution to the entertainment industry. Her work is beloved by fans and she has earned a reputation as a skilled and creative storyteller. It will be exciting to see what she does next in her career.
