THE FEAT. – The YBF Blog

The YBF Blog

#RunTheCulture

Black celebrity news blogs may be common now but that was not always the case. Today on The Feat. we feature one of the OG’s in that online space, The YBF.

TheYBF.com is a celebrity gossip website which focuses on news regarding prominent African American figures in every aspect of the entertainment industry. The YBF stands for the Young, Black and Fabulous and was launched in July 2005 by creator for The Culture Natasha Eubanks.

The site came about after Natasha (who herself was enthralled with black celebrity culture) noticed a lack of African Americans featured on gossip sites. Natasha decided to create her own blog without any previous blogging experience. Her passion and dedication however allowed The YBF to take off.

The blog is considered by it’s loyal readers to be the perfect mix of gossip, entertainment, and swag. The focus is fashion, gossip, and bit of mess. And no celebrity is spared. The YBF has filled the void of black entertainment blogging with fabulousness for over 15 years and counting.

#FunFact: Before launching her blog, Natasha was an aspiring lobbyist who graduated from Texas A&M University with a political science degree. And after completing one year of law school at Loyola University she dropped out to devote all of her time to Theybf.com. and the rest, as they say, is history.
