Telfar – Black Owned Fashion Brand – THE FEAT.
#RunTheCulture
Telfar is a black owned fashion brand with over 15 years in the fashion game. Founded by Telfar Clemens in NYC, Telfar’s designs are known for their high-end touch at more accessible price points.
“It’s not for you—it’s for everyone”
Teflar has emerged as one of America’s most exciting designers thanks to his signature vegan leather tote bag with his logo on the front. The brand rose to prominence in 2020 with it’s “Brooklyn Birkin” line but success was a slow burn; in fact, Telfar Clemens launched the unisex label back in 2005. Aside from the brand’s infamous shopping bag purses (which are constantly sold out now) they offer a full range of fashion items including t-shirts, hoodies, jewelry, shoes, and even durags. Rihanna is a fan which should let you know how fly Telfar’s creations are.
The label is now collabing with other major brands like UGG, Moose Knuckles and Converse. They’ve even done a surprise link up with fast food chain White Castle. And perhaps their coolest collaboration was for the 2020/2021 summer Olympics as Telfar designed the uniforms for the Liberian Olympic squad (Telfar himself is Liberian American). And they also always use black models for their photoshoots and runways shows continuing to represent for The Culture.
From the beginning, The Culture has always been on the cutting edge of style and fashion but not always recognized for being so. Telfar is a company that has hustled its way to the forefront of the fashion industry and is changing the game. We’re giving the brand and it’s creator their flowers now.
We hope you enjoyed this look at the Telfar black owned clothing line. Check out more on THE FEAT.
