The story of one of hip-hops greatest collectives of all-time the Wu-Tang Clan is coming to a streaming service near you. Hulu has green-light to Wu-Tang: An American Saga, a 10-episode drama from Wu founder The RZA and writer of the Superfly film remake Alex Tse. the show is set in the 90’s and will follow the Clan’s formation as The RZA, who strives to unite a dozen young, black men that are torn between music and the streets to eventually become the unlikeliest American success stories. And the rest of the Wu will serve as special consulting producers producers so everybody will eat off the show which makes it even doper.
50 Cent may have been killed of Power this season but that hasn’t stopped him from making a major power move with Starz. 50 has just signed a four-year deal with the cable network that includes a major commitment to his G-Unit Film and Television. It includes a commitment to produce three series; a dedicated development executive and discretionary fund for use in developing G-Unit projects; and input on merchandising and licensing of G-Unit-developed content and brands. This is a huge move that should result in a lot of new and interesting content from 50.
