Brandon Blackwood is a talented designer and creator for The Culture on a mission.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. Brandon is of Jamican and Chinese descent and spent most of his childhood traveling back and forth between New York and Tokyo. This gave him a unique world view from an early age. And in 2013, after majoring in Neuroscientific Psychology at Bard University, Blackwood realized that he true passion and calling was in fashion and started on his grind making moves to launch his first handbag line.
And as mentioned earlier, his line has a mission. So over the next two years, Brandon traveled the world to source the most ethical materials and fair-trade craftsmen. And in 2015 he finally launched his line Brandon Blackwood NYC. The first collection consisted of 4 bags, each paying homage to his closest friends and brother; THE MORELL, THE CAMILLE, THE SOPHIA and THE TRISTAN.
In the past 6 years, Blackwood has focused on creating bags, totes and accessories that are both trend-forward and lasting. He produces pieces that he and his customer will love. And with the massive success of his brand, mission accomplished. His lines have been seen on numerous celebrities and been featured in Vogue, Essence, and Vanity Fair just to name a few.
In 2020, Brandon had a vision to create a bag with a statement he believes strongly, End Systemic Racism. Like all his pieces, this statement will forever be important. Bold yet classy. Current yet timeless. Style and substance. Brandon Blackwood is a fashion creator for The Culture at the forefront of his industry.
